The first President of FINA was George Hearn of Great Britain(1908-1924).
Dr. Julio Magilone of Uruguay(2009-2013) is now new President of FINA.

FINA(WORLD SWIMMING FEDERATION)

FINA was founded on July 19, 1908 in the Manchester Hotel in London, UK at the end of the 1908 Summer Olympics by the Belgian, British, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian and Swedish Swimming Federations.

The National Ganga River Long Distance Swimming Tournament which is scheduled to be held in December'09 is postponed due to some unavoidable reasons. The date of the tournament will be announced at the latter date.

FINA CLINIC

A Training-cum-Refresher course had been organised for introducing new FINA(World Swimming Federation) rules for the session Sep'09-Aug'11 in the auspices of Bihar Swimming Association on the eve of the death anniversary of its founder secretary late Mishri Lal on Sunday. The programme was conducted by Mr. Prabhakar Nandan Prasad, Joint Secretary of the Association,especially FINA qualified official. The meeting was convened by the state secretary Mr.R B Pandey.

MASTERS SWIMMING

National Master's swimming championship is scheduled to be organised from 26th Feb 2010 to 28sth Feb 2010 in Rajkot. Interested candidate may contact me or State secretary Mr. Ram Bilas Pandey.
